The idea of Mother's Day came from two women. The first person was Julia Ward Howe who created a day to celebrate their mothers called Mother's Peace Day in 1872.
The second person was Anna Jarvis. She helped Mother's Day become an official day by writing letters to the governments for their support, and the U.S.A and Canada made Mother's Day official in 1914. We celebrate it on the second Sunday in May.
We show our love, appreciation and thanks for all the wonderful things they do. We treat them to a special breakfast or do other chores around the house to give mothers a day to relax.
Mother - whose job never ends with their unlimited, unconditional love and support for their children.
The origin of Mother's Day started in ancient Greece. People would hold a spring festival to celebrate Rhea. She was the mother of all Greek gods.
